Looped Narrative

Looped Narrative is a parafictional work, which documents a semi-fictionalised archive of remembered moments from cinema. Half the scenes remembered document films that exist – the other half comprises pure fantasy –  but it is staged in a way that suggests all the films discussed do exist but might perhaps be rare, underground or non-mainstream films. The work explores how the seemingly endless database of cinema stored in the cloud and via digital copies contrasts with the wispiness of human memory, and its unique capacity to edit. It reflects on the ways in which cinema serves as a platform for making and sharing worlds, and creates a common experience between audiences who, having viewed the same work might build a connection from this starting point.
